2016, NRA Approved, High Power Rifle Tournaments (100 yard reduced)

 Dates: 

Saturday 26 March, Saturday 23 April, Saturday 14 May, Saturday 18 June, Monday 4 July

Saturday 20 August, Saturday 3 September, Saturday 8 October

 Location:

ACSC property at the end of Old Joe Road, 5 miles south of Lawrenceburg, KY.

 Time:

Registration beginning 08:30, firing begins at 09:30 EDT.

 Eligibility:

Club members and guest.  These matches have been approved as open events.  Non-members will be allowed access to club property on the

day of the event and for participation in it only.  Juniors and intermediate juniors (by NRA definition) not already holding an NRA classification of Sharpshooter

or higher may compete only if accompanied by an NRA classified adult who will be responsible for his/her supervision.

 Rules: 

Current NRA High Power rules will apply.  Metallic sights only.

 Entries:

Post entries accepted to capacity of range until 09:15

 Entry Fee And Awards:

$10.00 for ACSC members, $15.00 for ACSC guests; ($4.50 covers NRA fee, $5.50 covers targets and other expenses and $5.00 is a nonmember fee imposed

by the club.)  Our competition is for love of the sport and honor of achievement; cash awards will not be given.  A tournament bulletin will be provided listing, for

each match, the overall winner and competitive group winners, and runners-up as follows:  3 or more competitors in a competitive group to establish a winner, 6 or

more for a second, 9 or more for a third, and 12 of more for fourth.  NRA classifications may be combined to form competitive groups except that High Masters may

not be combined with other classifications and will shoot for match winner only if a High Master group cannot be justified.

Rifle:

NRA Service Rifle, (NRA rule 3.1) or match rifle, (NRA rule 3.3).

Ammunition:

NRA rule 3.17 (No tracer or incendiary)

 Refires:

Refires for weapon or ammunition malfunction will not be allowed (NRA rule 9.12).  The individual is responsible for his rifle and ammunition.

 

Course Of Fire

 Match 1

2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record, slow fire standing 100 yards.  Time limit 22 minutes. SR-1 Target

 Match 2

2 sighting shots in 2 minutes.

2 10 shot strings for record, sustained fire sitting, each in 60 seconds with one magazine change (service rifle)

or stripper clip reload (bolt/match rifle) required in each string. SR-1 Target

 Match 3

2 sighting shots in 2 minutes.

2 10 shot strings for record, sustained fire prone, each in 70 seconds with one magazine change (service rifle)

or stripper clip reload (bolt/match rifle) required in each string. SR-21 target

 Match 4

2 sighting shots and 20 shots for record, slow fire prone at 100 yards.  Time limit 22 minutes.  SR-31 Target

 

Classification:

The NRA classification system will be used.  Classification card or temporary score book is necessary to establish such classification;

unclassified shooters will compete in the master class.

 

General:

Food and drink are not available at the range, and there will be no formal break for lunch.
