Welcome to the Web page for the Kentucky State Junior High Power Service Rifle team.
We are dedicated to training and supporting junior shooters that are interested in participating in the World Championship matches at Camp Perry each year.
We provide selected young men and women with physical, material, financial, and personal support in their pursuit of competing in the NRA and CMP High Power RIfle matches. This support is in the form of match grade ammunition, access to match grade firearms, shooting coats, stools, and other items that make the day at the range a more pleasant one.
We also provide coaching from some very dedicated individuals. Many of these people are Distinguished Riflemen, and have benefitted from Junior Support Programs themselves. Most of our all volunteer group does it for the love of the sport, and for the opportunity to spend time with other folks that have similar interests.
We are looking for young shooters, AND for adult VOLUNTEERS to participate in next year's effort, that are willing to attend matches and practice secessions, and that are willing to spend the second week of July at Camp Perry attending the Marine Coprs Clinic and shooting matches. The Association will pay for your lodging in the huts at Camp Perry, for your team matches, and may supply ammunition and acccess to firearms and other equipment.
Our first choice would be juniors that are already shooting the NRA and the CMP matches, followed by smallbore shooters, and air gun shooters as well. The 4H Shooting Sports Program is another great program that can feed into this one.
Here is a link to a video that has a lot of information on the Matches at Camp Perry.
Anyone interested in participating in, or helping with this program should contact Wayne McLeod, High Power RIfle Director, at 502-558-1043.
Thanks for your time.
